One day, between Taipei and Tainan, tired solo traveler, looking for recommendations

Hello, I’m super excited about my fall trip!

I arrive so, so early in the morning, after a suuuuuuuoer long travel day and I had planned to spend the day in Taipei, but I realized I have plenty of time there at the end of my trip.

I could easily just head straight to Tainan that day, or spend one day in Taichung (but that just seems like one more city).

Does anyone know an off the beaten track fishing town or chill spa village or where I should spend a laid back day? I won’t be climbing mountains, but I’ll knock back some caffeine and have whatever adrenaline I get from arriving. Looking for any recommendations, really!

The rest of my trip is Tainan, Kaohsiung (day trip to Alishan), Taipei.

Should I commit herbicide: Runner bean edition

Hi all,

It’s my first time planting runner beans and I may have gone overboard. I planted them on either side of this trellis. My question is should I cut down the plants on one side of the trellis or thin them on either side, or just let the Old Bean Gods have their way?

I’m in 5b if that makes a difference. Also, if it makes a difference, I’m not trying to maximize harvest since that wall behind them Is also runner beans. I will be swimming in beans like Scrooge McDuck swims in his vault.
