The vet only said there is fluid around the heart, no official diagnosis
7 y/o Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix has been coughing like this not stop sometimes with hacking. We took him to the vet and left with a prescription of Lasix and was told he has fluid surrounding the heart. The meds worked great at first but I think he has become resistant. No official diagnosis. He eats, drinks, and plays. However whenever I look up Chronic cough I usually just get congestive heart failure as a result. Please just let me know your thoughts and have had a dog sound like this. And what else helped besides the lasix.
