Lots of my fave songs would be better without the ‘left turn’ melodic choices. The verses of sweetness follows are beautiful then the chorus stops it in its tracks. Half a world away almost does it but comes back to a lovely chorus that resolves.
I’m sure this has been asked a million times and a million different answers given, but I’ve scoured the posts and for my money ‘find the river’ seems to get the most love. Is that the consensus amongst fans?
Has anyone used an REM song for the first dance at their wedding? My wife and I danced to ‘at my most beautiful’ for ours in 2014 and it was such a special moment. I’ve only recently got into REM in a deep way but I’ve always loved that song.
