While visiting family in KC, I made a trip to BLICK art store and bought a couple tubes of paint: Nickel Azo Yellow and Quinacridone Burnt Orange. Then, on my way back through The Plaza, I saw this building with the gold dome, and thought it would be the perfect subject to try out those two new colors in my tiny 3 1/2” x 5” sketchbook!!

Started with light pencil outline, then paint, then finished with pen accents. This is opposite from how I usually do my urban sketches, which is pen first, then paint. I think I like this new method.
