Finally Married! - Doc Requirement for US Citizen Married to French Spouse

Hello! I've asked questions about getting married to a French Citizen with intent to move to France here before and would like to quickly thank everybody who lent advice!

We just got married last week and I intend to fly back to apply for a VLS-TS "Vie Privee et Familiale" and the ability to work via a titre de sejour per the advice of those in this sub.

I'd love to know about anybody else's experience with the process and wait times! As well as what documents I should have prepared for my application. I've got a copy of our marriage documents for example but is there anything else I should prepare here before I depart and start my application? happy to explain my situation more if needed down below.

tldr: What documents do I need to apply for VLS-TS "Vie Privee et Familiale" from within the USA?

Engaged to a French Citizen - What Visa should I hold before Marriage in France?

Hello!

I've (American 26M) recently proposed to my beloved (French 26F) and I plan to live/work in France. I want to acquire a residency card as soon as possible in order for me to begin my search for work. I have read through these articles below regarding marrying in France that states a VLS-TS (Long Stay Visa) is MANDATORY before applying for a residence card. This leaves me with a few questions:

- I understand I cannot work while under a VLS-TS, would I be required to wait out my Visa before applying for a residence card?

- Can I apply for my residence card immediately after 6 months of being married even if I have an active VLS-TS?

- If I were to return to the USA temporarily at any point during my 6 month stay, would that jeopardize my ability to apply for a residence card?

I would prefer to stay in France with my spouse the entire time I'm on my VLS-TS at least until I'm able to acquire my residence card, I'm looking to apply for a VLS-TS that is valid for at least 6 months at the moment but let me know if that should be increased.

Also for reference, I have only ever been in France under the Short Stay Visa granted to U.S. Citizens.

Thank you!
