Need advice after losing my fibroid surgeon

I’ve been monitoring fibroids for about 5 years now and currently have two around 7 cm and one around 4 cm. The larger ones are subserosal and the smaller one is pedunculated. I’m in my late 20s and hoping to preserve fertility, so the plan has been to eventually have a laparoscopic myomectomy. I don’t really have major symptoms besides some bulk/pressure.

My surgeon recently dropped out of my case because he’s apparently no longer with the practice, and now I’m not sure if I should actively look for my own surgeon or just wait and see who they reassign me to. They didn’t really explain what happened, so I don’t even know if he moved somewhere else.
I’ve also been wondering if I should ask for an MRI since I’ve only ever had ultrasounds done. At this point I just feel kind of lost because I’ve never dealt with anything like this before.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Did you feel better finding your own fibroid specialist instead of waiting for reassignment?
