Progressing in skill

I've lurked around this subreddit, the rhythm game subreddit and other sources and found that for chunithm specifically, the general consensus is to play what you can comfortably SSS and occasionally play higher charts. Why is that? I feel that for most other rhythm games, the general advice is simply to slowly move higher in levels and sit around those that you can comfortably clear. But in comparison, the bare minimum for chunithm is around an S+ whereas an AAA is considered barely scraping by.

TL;DR: Why is chunithm so much more focused on a seemingly quite high score for progression more than slowly moving higher in difficulties with something like S+ clears?

Returning after a very long time…

So I’ve very recently picked up ptn again after maybe 3 or so years. Would anyone have any advice or insights as to what’s really important now? I’ve gotten a free eleven, but apart from that, I’m currently seeing if I can nab jichuan. Any general pulling advice would also be helpful, even though I feel that list would be quite long considering I seem to be missing a large number or irreplaceable characters in the current day and age lol.

I got an email about how my film1000 exam and neur2001 exams have a room clash and the instructions on how to go about that. But even though theyre in the same room, it says theyre at different times and they dont overlap?? Is the time i was given on my timetable the rescheduled one? For reference, both exams are timetabled as 18 of june for me, with film being 2 hours from 9am, and neuro being 1.5 hours from 1pm.
