$10k to invest in TFSA: how to diversify beyond XEQT + add dividends?
Hey everyone, looking for some investing guidance/recommendations.
I’m fairly new to investing and I already hold some XEQT. I’ve got $10,000 ready to invest (likely inside my TFSA, long-term horizon). I’m playing the long game (10+ years) and I’m okay with normal market ups/downs, but I don’t want to be 100% XEQT.
Questions:
With $10k, is it generally better to invest all at once (lump sum) or do smaller buys over time (DCA) to reduce the “bad timing” risk?
If I don’t want 100% XEQT, what are good ways to diversify without overcomplicating it? (I know XEQT already holds a lot globally.)
I’d like some dividend exposure as well. Is it worth adding dividend ETFs/stocks alongside XEQT, or am I just duplicating holdings?
Specifically: would BANK (Canadian bank ETF) be a bad choice to pair with XEQT? I like the idea of dividends, but I’m worried it’s just extra concentration in Canadian banks since XEQT already has Canada exposure.
