Does this girl have a chance?
I work in a school. The fish in question is not mine, but I’m hoping to rehab her. The teacher who took care of her is not here anymore and the teacher who took over for her wants to flush the fish because “she looks like she’s dying.” There was ammonia in the water. It has since been changed. That is the extent of the care so far.
She does not have clamped fins, is not gasping for air, and happily ate. Does anyone know what’s wrong with her?
I have a betta at home, am a novice but familiar with basic care, and I have a spare empty tank. I’m taking her home today to try and help her but any guidance would be very helpful. I have never seen something like this, but, again, I’m very new to the hobby.
Current tank: 2/3 gal. Will move her to a 5 later today.
