The international union movement (ITUC) is celebrating yesterday's confirmation from the International Court of Justice that the right to strike is protected under International Labour Organization Convention No. 87 on Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organise. The ICJ is the highest court in the world, and this advisory opinion confirms that the right to strike is essential in enabling workers to exercise freedom of association.

Congratulations to the Haqooq e Khalq Party- HKP, a member of the Progressive International, for bringing together many of the world's leading left activists and intellectuals for the International Anti-Imperialist Conference (3 May 2026). New research released on May Day by the International Trade Union Confederation & Oxfam shows that CEO pay at the world's biggest companies rose 11% last year. And while productivity has been increasing steadily since 2019, real wages have declined. How much?
