Got a hair dryer with a diffuser and I’ve been constantly practicing my scissor work, decided to practice on myself and trim my hair using shears and sectioning with comb. Gave myself a low/mid drop fade a couple days ago also.

Used sea salt spray after damping my hair, dried using blow dryer w/ diffuser while working it with my fingers, then put a little bit of texture powder.

Also tried fading in my beard and I think I’m gonna do that every time I line up my beard now

Any tips or advice for me from someone more experienced?

I took a couple mirror photos of my head and hair, front, left, right, back (I used a three way mirror for the back photo). Asked chatGPT what the best fade/cut for my head and hair would be and then asked it to mark my photos exactly where it thinks I should hit my lines. Really you could ask it anything to do with your hair and how to fix it if you messed it up. It’s AI so some of it might look weird, ask it to redo the pic if there’s a line all messed up.

I cut my own hair and always had to figure it out myself, dealing with the hair that builds up underneath my crown is always annoying but it’s helped me figure out how to attack it. Just a suggestion for people who might be struggling with self cuts.

Hope this helps somebody!
