There is no life in theology

I want to remind everyone of these passages:

John 5:39-40: "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life."

1 Corinthians 8:1 "...Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up."

Theology can interesting, but there is no life in it. If we focus on theology, and make it our number one priority, we will fail to see the forest for the trees.

When Jesus returns, what do you think He will first us:

- What was your doctrine of Hell?

or

- Did you love me?

I have ran into people who became so obsessed with their theology and spreading it that they forgot that Jesus told us what is the greatest commandment:

Matthew 22:36-40 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."

Notice how Jesus puts love above faith in priorities.

That's because if you love God with all you heart, everything else you need will come naturally: your faith as well.

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
