Nest X Yale - Nest to Home Lost Functionality
My three Nest X Yale locks finally appear to have expanded functionality within the Google Home app. For example, I can now view battery levels and set passcodes without needing to switch back to the Nest app.
One thing I haven’t been able to figure out, however, is how to schedule a lock code to activate at a specific date and time and then deactivate at a specific date and time. I attempted to do this, but the app wouldn’t accept it (see first screenshot). It seems this section is designed to restrict access to certain hours within a day, rather than to define a continuous access window between a start and end timestamp.
Is Google planning to support this type of scheduling? I’m fine using the Nest app for now (second screenshot), but I’m concerned about losing this functionality when the Nest app is eventually sunset. I operate a short-term rental and need codes to activate at check-in time and deactivate at check-out time; I don’t want to grant full-day access on those transition dates.
