Testing an RSS-to-Topic flow with strict source control (and OPML import)

Hi r/rss, dev here. Last time I shared Syft, the feedback was clear: no OPML import, no deal. We’re now building a way to turn bulk feeds into organized topics—letting you keep your sources while removing the chore of sifting through every single post.

We’ve finally built a web-based import tool for this. We know the big worry with AI is losing control to "algorithmic discovery junk"—so we made our AI strictly bounded. It only summarizes and filters the feeds you provide. No external noise, no "recommendations."

The workflow:

  1. Web: Bulk import OPML/URLs and group them into Topics.
  2. App: Read summarized updates from those specific sources.

I’m looking for honest feedback:

  • Does the "Web setup / App reading" split feel too clunky?
  • Does summarizing your own feeds into topics actually help you clear the backlog?
