From the comics we know that Ganmar wasnt the frist wielder of the Decimaar Blade and that he got it after he killed its original owner Orlagk. So we can assume that the blade works kinda like the amulet or the Elder Wand in the Harry Potter series so that would mean that who ever kills the last owner is the new owner. Since we know it is not a regular sword and it is indeed magic like we see Ganmar summoning it and it looks really like when Jim makes his sword come out. So by that means if that is the reason someone obtains the blade shouldnt Jim be the one that owns it now but the creators chose not to use it since Jim wouldnt probably use it at all since of its dark magic

He saw what would have happen if he didnt get the amulet and when Draal got it they just ended up freeing Ganmar way sooner. Toby wouldnt survive the frist encounter with Bular and the history would just repeat itself by Draal being chosen again and killed when the Killahead bridge gets open. Really the worsts possible ending they thought of.
