Why people mistake consuming as consumerism? (Srry for any spelling mistakes, english is not my first language)
I see people online saying that you can’t be goth and gyaru at the same time bc “goth is anticonsumerism and gyaru is consumerism” and that’s the most stupid thing I’ve heard. Like, gyaru is not anticonsumerism but it doesn't encourage that either. Gyaru lack of political statement, so depends on the people if they will be consumerist or not.
