Floreana or Bartolomé?

Hi everyone! I’ll be visiting the Galápagos in September and I’m trying to decide between a day trip to Floreana or Bartolomé from Santa Cruz.

I’m already doing 3 days of diving (including Gordon Rocks), so I’d like something that gives me a different experience from diving.

I’m interested in wildlife, snorkeling, landscapes, hiking, and generally having an adventurous day, rather than just seeing one particular viewpoint.

For those who have done both: which one did you enjoy more, and why?

Would you personally pay the extra ~$85 for Bartolomé, or would you choose Floreana?

Thanks!

First trip to Galápagos — what’s the best way to have mobile data?

Hi everyone! This will be my first trip to Galápagos and honestly, I have no idea how mobile data works there.

I’ll be staying in Santa Cruz and Isabela for around 10 days, and I’d like to have internet for WhatsApp, Google Maps, checking tour information, etc.

I’ve heard that coverage can be pretty limited in Galápagos, so I’m mainly wondering what works best in the islands. Should I get a local SIM when I arrive, use my Costa Rican carrier’s roaming, or are there other options that work better?

I’ve also heard about eSIMs, but I don’t really know how reliable they are there.

Would really appreciate any advice from people who have recently traveled to Santa Cruz and Isabela!

Best tours in Santa Cruz and Isabella

Hi everyone,

I'll be visiting the Galápagos for the first time in a solo trip this September and I'm trying to make sure I don't miss anything important.

I'll arrive on September 1st and will be spending most of my time in Santa Cruz before heading to Isabela for a few days. I already have my flights, accommodations, and diving booked, and I'll be doing 3 days of diving, including Gordon Rocks and Seymour/Daphne.

Outside of diving, I'm still deciding which tours and activities are worth doing. I've heard great things about places like Los Túneles, Sierra Negra, North Seymour, Pinzón, and a few others, but I'd love to hear from people who have actually been there.

By the way this is my first trip out of my country, I'm very excited!

Thank you!!
