Hello there!
So after getting 10 great years of usage out of my ROG SWIFT PG278QR, its panel has degraded up to the point of constant, nausea-inducing horizontal line flickering. Sad, but its edges have been getting brighter for a while now, so I'm not exactly surprised.
I'm looking to buy a new monitor that fits my usage pattern (which unfortunately does exclude OLED panels).
I'm a software developer working from home. When I finish my 8 hours of work, I spend some 4 hours gaming each day. On the weekends it's not unusual for me to spend some 8 hours yet again.
In a perfect world I would be more than willing to shell out on an OLED panel that will not burn in after 8-10 hours of the same IDE-UI being blasted into it, but I fear we are just not there yet.
My alternative now is an IPS mini-LED panel, because I must use the same primary screen for both work and free time-related activities. I feel like it should be a good middle ground.
I'm looking to spend 600€ (~520£, ~690$) on said monitor.
I've been looking at a few, but after using the same display for such a long time, I guess I'm no longer really in the know here.
Does anyone of you have some good recommendations?
