Working Dining at Cornell
Hello!
I was thinking about doing the Early Work Program at Cornell dining (or just any job in general). I wanted to know if Cornell Dining is my best choice as a freshman? I was looking at the workday website for other possible jobs but all the "nice" jobs where you get to sit/occasionally do other stuff seem to be locked behind being a sophomore (or are they less strict with requirements if you apply in person?).
Another thing is that, I'm also a bit hesitant as to whether I should even get a job since I want to take CS 2112 which according to past posts in r/Cornell and course eval numbers is going to cook me. I'm not that concerned with the physical aspect of working dining since I've worked fast food before.
Lastly, in total signing the Early Work Program is ~75 hours of work (15 shifts, 5 hours/shift according to this subreddit) between August-October 14th, will this make me miss out anything significant in my first couple months?
If anyone has their own opinions or experience regarding my situation, please share & thank you🙏
