Feeling loosy goosy

After months of prep and anxiety ridden waiting, I'm feeling pretty unfettered. No exams haunting my life, no spirals into the what ifs of resitting, no more wondering when LSO will release us from the misery of not knowing. I haven't been able to concentrate on work today, and I need to get my head back in the game.

Any advice from people who've made it through the fire of this process and clawed their way back to normalcy?

Administrative Call - timeline

With the solicitors finally out, I'm officially almost done the process. I've got just over a month left for my articles. How long does it take for LSO to process your articling information if you want to get called (admin). Really hoping to get called this year.

Solicitors waiting room-part???? RELEASE ME!

We know we're getting nothing today, LSO staff are likely enjoying their cottages...oblivious to our plight. This post is strictly for the people who wish to express themselves through poetry, memes or whatever else gets you through the day. I'm working because I'm a lowly articling student who only gets stat holidays.

New call (2026) are the prospects bleak?

I moved back to Canada 5 years ago after living and working abroad for about 15 years. I've got dual nationalities, did my LLB internationally and practiced mainly in legal not-for-profits in the Land, mining, environment sector. Now that I'm back home for good (totally cured my itchy feet!), I'm finishing up my qualification requirements so I can work as a Lawyer here.

My question is, despite my foreign experience, I know I'll be coming into the profession as a new call are the job prospects as brutal as they seem? What can I expect as a person with minimal networks but an excellent ability to build and maintain them? Is cold-calling social/career suicide?

Post-exam feeling

I don't even know what to do with myself! The day feels longer, the sun looks brighter, food tastes better!! After months of constant, unrelenting studying, and stress...I'm done? Anyone in Toronto (west-end) want to meet up this weekend to commiserate/celebrate?

Congratulations for getting through it!

Brain fatigue - Solicitors

I made the mistake of jumping right in to Solicitors, tell me why I feel like my eyes are actually rolling back in my head! I know I haven't done enough prep but the material is just so so dry oh my goodness! Tips on staying alert and engaged in boring material after a full day of articling?

Exam day - what do I need

This might be a stupid question, I searched "what to bring" it keeps bringing up materials and ID. Do I need my LSO application number? Is there a different number you need to have with you or is your ID sufficient?

Last push! Hope this weekend is super productive for everyone!

Emond practice - mini rant

I'm a little disappointed with Emond practice tests. You can opt to take it in different ways either timed or untimed. I chose both. Finished one untimed, wanted to do the next one. ITS THE EXACT SAME EXAM :( obviously you'll do better and be faster because you remember the questions. I was hoping each attempt would be a different test so you can actually gauge your improvement.
Mini rant over. Am I missing something? I'll admit, my brain is pretty fried from all the dense material.
