Emergency Departments

Just spent 14 hours across a medical center and Auckland's North Shore Emergency Department followed by a quick stint at home then 9 hours sitting in Starships ED waiting room.

Having not set foot in one since being a child my god its grim and the facilities battered. 95% of staff interactions were amazing, especially at starship my god the women there were saints.

Those places need funding, and perhaps people need educating on what should actually be clogging up an ED and what shouldn't, but so grateful for their service as painfully slow and creaky as it is.

Road rage

I've been driving long enough to know road rage isn't anything new but it seems way more common now to see someone fly off the fucking handle over what used to be finger or at most a "fuck wit" level offense. Like, chasing people down the road swerving, flashing lights and threatening or boxing them in with their car or something.

Even locally in your own neighborhood not just out in the city. I wonder if people get so much social validation on their phones they don't care about being civil with their extended neighbours or everyones so dopamine addled that small inconveniences evoke a crazy response.
