Is it weird that I prefer Jindal over an NLU

im preparing for CLAT 2027 and ive realised that honestly I think I would prefer Jindal over most NLUs

I know that probably sounds weird on this sub because obviously everyone is preparing for CLAT to get a good NLU but im genuinely trying to understand if my priorities are just wrong

My main issue with NLUs is the lifestyle from what I hear theyre extremely hectic and academics basically take over your life and the whole residential campus environment seems pretty intense

I know NLUs are obviously really good and if I got a good one id still be happy about it and proud of the result but I dont really feel excited about the actual lifestyle there

Jindal on the other hand seems much more like the kind of college experience id actually want better social life more things happening around campus and just more of a normal college experience

The biggest issue with Jindal for me is obviously the cost I dont think paying the full fees makes sense for me so id only seriously consider it if I could get a substantial scholarship through LNAT

So basically im stuck between

good NLU which is obviously the safer and more financially sensible option but im not sure id actually enjoy the lifestyle as much

Jindal with a good scholarship which would still be expensive but seems much more suited to the kind of college life I actually want

Im not saying Jindal is objectively better than NLUs or anything like that I just want to know if im looking at this the wrong way

especially from people who are actually in NLUs or Jindal

am I underestimating how good the college life at NLUs can be

is the workload and campus life really as hectic as people say

and if you had the option between Jindal and an NLU and chose Jindal how do you feel about that decision now

would especially appreciate actual experiences rather than the usual NLU better than Jindal answer

To those who got scholarship

what was your LNAT score and when did you apply?

Hi everyone, I'm planning to apply to JGLS for the 5-year law programme for the 2027 intake

I'm mainly trying to understand how the scholarship works in practice

If you've actually received a JGLS scholarship, could you please share

-Your LNAT score (/42)

-What scholarship percentage you received (25%, 50%, 75%, etc.)

- Which month you applied

- Which month you received/secured the scholarship

- If you're comfortable sharing, rough parental annual income / ITR bracket

- Whether you applied early or relatively late in the admission cycle

My biggest concern is the timing. I'm currently considering taking the LNAT in December 2026, but I've heard that JGLS scholarships can be limited and may be first come first served. I don't know whether applying in December puts someone at a significant disadvantage for getting a scholarship.

Thanks!
