Pivoting from Finance to Talent Acquisition second time around, is it bad?

I work in finance with over 6 years of experience and about a month ago I talked to my manager and director about wanting to pivot internally into a talent acquisition role. I’ve been with company for almost 2 years. Both of them are pretty new, so I was nervous it would look like I wanted to leave because of leadership changes. To be fair, that is part of it, but I’ve also realized I genuinely don’t enjoy finance anymore and want a different career path.

They were supportive overall, although my director mentioned concerns about the long-term stability of TA because of AI and changes in recruiting. The original posting ended up closing really quickly before I applied, so I told them I’d just stay focused on my current role and continue building my skills where I am.

Now, over a month later, the exact same role was reposted — and I’m still interested. But now I’m overthinking how this looks. I’m worried it’ll seem like I’m persistent about leaving the team or not committed to my current role.
From a manager/director perspective, would this reflect poorly on me? Or does this seem like a reasonable internal career pivot?
