Nakamura vs. Solo - Shinsuke takes on the MFT because he wants Tama Tonga to realize his potential. He defeats Solo for the right to have a match where Tama fights alone.
Nakamura v. Tama Tonga - Tama loses, but leaves Solo after realizing his independence.
Shinsuke v. Ilja Dragunov - 3 match series. Ilja wins the series, setting Ilja up with momentum to face Gunther.
Nakamura v. Sami - Nakamura tries to reach the good in Sami, calling back on their history together, but Sami ultimately turns mega heel with a brutal beat down of Shinsuke. It results in a double turn, back to the Evil Samurai, now serving Sami.
Nakamura v. Royce Keyes - Now aligned with Sami, Shinsuke and Sami seek to take down all the up-and-comers that threaten the Old Guard. First up: Royce Keyes. Royce wins the feud, but Sami costs him a U.S. Title attempt.
