Video levels - am I missing something?

This is possibly a very obvious question so apologies in advance.

I keep seeing people refer to video levels, such as "I'm current watching video of the 50 - 55 range". Where are these levels listed?

I can only see them listed as Superbeginner, beginner etc. Is it perhaps as I'm not (yet, coming very soon) subscribed that I can't see these references? Or that I'm using the android app?

I may just be looking in the wrong place entirely.

It seems like a good way of judging incremental gains, but I can't seem to see these details.

Looking forward to my journey.

Thought I'd say hello. I've been trying to learn Spanish for a couple of years, but done very little with it. I always seemed to start and then drift away and I'm pretty certain it was due to my learning style not matching the methods I was using, which has predominantly been audiobooks/podcasts and far too sparodic. I do enjoy them, but also find the fairly strict listen and repeat to be tiresome at times.

I've always felt that comprehensible input was the way forward, but didn't actually know it had a name! I just beleived that the way children learn seemed so natural, with the next best thing being immersion.

So, I'm happy that I've found DS and I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing some results.

My work means some days I'll struggle to fit in any time to learn, whereas other days I'll have plenty of time to get stuck in.

Anyway, only a handful of hours in but I'm enjoying the process which makes all the difference. Wish I'd found DS years ago.

App full screen?

Just tried using the Dreaming Languages Android app for the first time.

Does anyone else have issues viewing full screen? When i try it shifts the screen down so you can only see the top half of the videos, which also means you can't use play/pause buttons etc.

My learning plan - suggestions welcome

My self study plan - feedback welcome.

Hi all,

After trying the likes of Dualingo for a good while, and finding that it simply teaches you "how to play the game" rather than actually teach the language, I've decided to change my approach.

My plan. And feedback and suggestions are more than welcome.

I'm going to start over as if I'm completely new to the language. I know very little, but what I have learnt feels like there is litttle or no structure to it, hence why I'm treating this as an opportunity to start from scratch.

I drive 30 - 60 minutes each way for work daily.

During this time I'm going to mainly use Language Transfer. I'll also try Spanish with Paul Noble which seems to take a pretty similar approach.

My job sometimes involves hours where I'm effectively on call, not doing much. So during this time I'm going to use Dreaming Spanish to get as much comprehensible input as possible, supplemented with other sources when I reach a sufficient enough level.

I've bought some dual language books. I enjoy reading and one of my main aims is to be able to read novels in the target language, though I know that will be a long way off as it will be a good while before I have a good enough understanding for this part, but I'm adding it as a target to aim for.

The speaking part is where I'm likely to struggle. I don't know anyone who speaks more than just a few words of Spanish, certainly not good enough to learn from.

I've looked and not found any active groups in my area to meet with.

I also feel very self conscious about this part, even though this is the whole point of learning the language!

I'm thinking of using Gemini/GPT to start with and when I feel comfortable/confident enough I'll look for a language/communication app or similar that connects to like minded people to learn with.

I'm also going to check out FSI course which I've only just found out about today.

I'll try to keep this updated as and when I reach milestones or feel like significant progress has been made.

More than happy to hear other experienced peoples thoughts and open to suggestions.

Cheers all.
