Is this going to be Hanuman design?

This image is from yesterdays event, all props at the vent were directly from the movie or related. Could it be possible this is a design of Hanuman they are going with? I dont think the the color will be orange but could design will match this?

Ramayan + Varanasi

Varanasi and Ramayana are complementary movies, not competing movies, IMO.

Fans of both should be happy that we’re getting two potentially high-quality movies based around our culture and mythology. There’s no reason to create unnecessary competition or hate between the two.

In fact, considering Varanasi itself has elements of the Ramayana, both movies could expose the story and our cultural traditions to audiences who may not know much about them. But honestly, I don't even care that much about the Western audience here. Having two genuinely ambitious, high-quality movies rooted in our culture is already a huge win for our own audience, especially for Gen Z, Gen Alpha and the generations coming after them.

Rajamouli is a fantastic director and has always shown a lot of respect for the cultural material he works with, so I have pretty high hopes for Varanasi as well.

Also, I haven't really seen anyone on this subreddit saying anything negative about Varanasi, so props to everyone here for that.

Unfortunately, there seems to be some hate towards Ramayana on the Varanasi subreddit, but I'd like to believe that's just a minority and not representative of the actual audience.

Both movies can succeed. Both can be great.

A small request to all genuine Ramayana fans 🙏🚩

When the movie finally releases, please try to watch it before watching YouTube reviews, reactions, or social-media opinions.

We’ve waited so long for this. Let’s experience it for ourselves first, without someone else’s opinion shaping our emotions or expectations.

Over the years, I feel a lot of people have unfortunately lost interest in the Ramayana because of repeated retellings, adaptations, and the way it has sometimes been presented. But this is exactly why I think we should give this one a completely open mind. Don't go in carrying expectations or negativity from everything you've seen before.

And let's be honest: Indian social media is going to try to create negativity around this movie. There will be rage bait, comparisons, nitpicking, controversy and endless YouTube videos telling you what to think before you've even experienced it.

Don't let them steal that first experience from you.

Watch it. Feel it. Take in the world, the characters, the scale and the storytelling. Then make up your own mind.

And believe me when I say this: I genuinely believe this movie is going to do great and we may see something on a scale and level that Indian cinema simply hasn't seen before.

Let's experience it first. 🙏🚩 Jai Shree Ram

It took a global team of 60 members and 2 years of research and work to build the cities of Ramayana- Subrata Chakraborty, production designer.

Perfect casting

Ravi dube giving me full Laxman vibes, out of all the castings of Ramayana for me he is the perfect but most underrated casting. In real life his personality is such I see him taking Ramayana more seriously and with bhakti than Ranbir. I see Ranbir doing good job with the role but for him it would be just another role. I see Ravi Dube surrendering to the Ramayana than to the role only.

Indra in Ramayana.

Considering the 4 min trailer we see the look of every character other than Indradev. Ramayan team have only one asset to release so they should release Indra as a marketing asset 😁

On the serious note what can they release to keep interest alive?

VFX oscar

Hear me out. Everyone knows DNEG has won 8 Oscars, but they won those awards while working on projects for other production houses, and mostly for Hollywood movies. So I feel DNEG is going to put everything they have into the VFX of this movie.

Namit also seems extremely passionate about the project, and the story has all the elements needed for stunning imagination and a truly grand scale in terms of VFX. By now, DNEG may also have a very strong understanding of how the Academy works and what it takes to make an impact there.

The trailer may not have every VFX shot looking top-notch yet, but there are some very strong indications of where they are heading—and as a VFX artist, I can see it.

If it all comes together the way I think it might, just imagine the reaction from the people criticising the VFX today. 😄

One hour screen time for Ravana, Justified or too much emphasis on Ravana? I just hope this doesn't give fuel to likes of Prateek Borade.

Is Reddit ecosystem anti right?

I am fairly new to the reddit ecosystem and found that every where on reddit it's anti right comments and ideology. Or the reddit algorithm is biased and tries to propagate left leaning agenda

Going out of hand

These guys are going out of hands, I am fed up with this 4000cr trolls and more fed up with wannabes who are ready to compare their work with Ramayana. I dont hate AI per se but this kind of AI usage is criminal

No songs

Looking at the trailer and the fact they want to release a movie in Hollywood I can see there won't be a dedicated song and the movie runtime is 3hr + then we will be getting a lot of movies and world building.

Action sequences

Let's have a look at the total number of action sequences we could be getting based on what we saw in the trailer. For one movie there are quite a few.

  1. Subhahu + tadaka fight or could be two separate fights

  2. Deamons fight in dark forest

  3. 14k Rakshasas

  4. Ravana or Rakshasas vs Indra fight

  5. Ravana vs kubera's army

  6. Ravana vs Vivek oberoi fight

  7. Jatayu fight

Which one are you guys most interested in? And why?
