Amc MCQ exam june experience

Hello folks. I just gave my amc 1 yesterday. Happy to share my experience herewith.

I started my prep seriously during my internship and was prepared by the time as soon as it got over. I studied for almost a year steadily because i didn't study much during my mbbs life, so gave time to build my concepts especially in medicine(which was my weakest), instead of just blindly cramming the guidelines and recalls from the beginning, i started my study prospectively just because i was willing to invest time in my prep. Few people say that this exam requires 3-4 months to pass, true, it depends on various factors such as how much time you're able to study during your hectic duty hours, what is the knowledge base of your med school, etc and stuff like that.

The real exam experience -

The exam was pretty much expected as i had it on saturday. Full of recalls (twisted recalls i would say). This is the actual change amc has done in 2026, is they are still asking recalls of the exam week for sure, only to change a line or 2 and keep the options same just to confuse people who have just crammed all the recall answers or the final question like - most appropriate step/next step/initial step kind of stuff. Overall i would say the level of exam was quite good, it just becomes quite easier after doing the recalls, as we are already aware of the topics.

Regarding emedici -

I solved around 1800 questions in emedici, and felt similar to the experiences of other people i went through in reddit. The exam had quite shorter and vague questions than emedici. But i still feel emedici is the gold standard for the prep to build actual concepts not only for amc1, but to enter into the australian system. So, don't judge your progress through your emedici scores, use it as an adjunct for learning guidelines especially if you ain't doing anything else for it.

Use of AI in the prep -

This is something not many people recommend. It was one of the best weapon(recommended by one of my senior) which helped me throughout the prep for studying the guidelines, recalls and my weak topics.

Conclusion-

I am not sure exactly about how well did i do in my exam, but seems passing shouldn't be a problem according to my prep.

Feel free to ask any prep related questions. Happy to help.:)

PS - i still have 3 months of my emedici subscription left. Am ready to give at a very nominal price to someone who is genuinely preparing for the exam needing it.
