Getting the band back together finally from the darkness of winter. Carp have finished spawning and openly swimming and eating. Rock bass and smallies back in the non discharge parts of the river.
Fished some rivers for some variety. Also a nice channel cat but it wiggled loose and escaped before a picture. Had a nice hit on cut bait but did not stick. Imagined it was another nice channel cat.
Lunch time fishing and they boarded me. 💩
First spot was a dud and checked out another spot not expecting much. Then my cut bait rod gets bit, pick up the rod and I feel some tiny bites thinking it was a small one and set the hook. Then it starts to peel some drag. Was skinny as hell but had some length.
Looking for hybrid bass but I’ll take any bendo from any fish.
My tackle box aka my car is in the shop along with my regular use rods. I only had access to my flyrod but not any flies. So what am I to do? Bait on the fly rod.
