Its time!!

Hi guys,

I’m looking at buying a Rancilio Silvia V6 and I’d love some advice from people who already own one.

I’ve been using an AeroPress for years and I’ve already got a really decent grinder, but I think it’s finally time for me to get into a proper espresso machine.

Could someone give me a step-by-step list of what I actually need to buy with the Silvia? I’m talking must-have accessories, useful upgrades, cleaning gear, baskets, tamper, scales, milk jug, anything else you’d consider essential from day one.

I also love the fact that there seems to be an endless rabbit hole with these machines — upgrades, mods, PID controllers, different baskets, even people wrapping and customising their machines. That side of it really appeals to me.

So if you were starting again with a brand-new Silvia V6, what would you buy immediately, what would you upgrade later, and what stuff is completely unnecessary?

Would really appreciate a shopping list so I can get everything together properly from the start. Cheers!

Needing some advice

Hi, my daughter is 10 years old and does a lot of dancing contemporary, jazz, lyrical and ballet. She also has private lessons and is getting very good now.

I was just wondering if there are certain things she should be doing at home every day to help improve her dancing? For example, are there particular exercises, stretches, strength work, flexibility work or technique drills that would be beneficial for her to practise regularly?

I’d love to know if there’s a simple daily routine that would complement what she’s already doing in her classes and privates.

Thanks in advance for your help

How do I make my decking look shiny new

Hi everyone, This is my deck. Every year I use Cabot's AquaDeck but I'm not happy with the result. As soon as I apply it, it looks fantastic—rich, fresh, and slightly glossy. But after only a day or two, it goes dull and dry-looking, and loses that nice, oiled appearance. I'd really like it to have a deeper colour and a bit more of a satin/oily look that lasts. What am I doing wrong? Is there a better product or preparation process I should be using? Should I be cleaning, sanding, or stripping it back before recoating? I'd really appreciate any advice from people who've managed to get their decking looking great for longer. Thanks!
