GTA VI tweets and the stock market

Hi everyone, (sorry for the flashbacks)

I am new here. I was wondering, was it ever mentioned/discussed (here or anywhere else) why Trailer 2 dropped at 9:29 a.m ET on Twitter? Rockstar usually tweets at 10 a.m. ET.

Well just yesterday, I found out that the trading hours of NASDAQ (the market where Take-Two shares are traded) are between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. ET. So Trailer 2 was tweeted one minute before the stock market opened.

So my guess is that they released Trailer 2 at 9:29 a.m. to firstly boost Take-Two stock the moment the market opened. But more importantly, to avoid any insider trading.

Maybe I have just reinvented the wheel and this has been discussed before, my apologies if that's the case.

But I do think that IF we were to get anything today or any day in the future (a trailer or any form of announcement), it will be before their usual 10 a.m. ET tweet. By the way, the earnings call today is at 4:30 p.m. ET, 30 minutes after the market closes.

Following my discovery yesterday, I did some more research, and I found out that most GTA VI tweets were not posted during trading hours:

- The delay in November last year was tweeted at 4:05 p.m. ET, 5 minutes after the stock market closed.

- The delay in May last year was tweeted at 7:25 a.m. ET, just over 2 hours before the stock market opened.

- The tweet that announced that Trailer 1 would release on December 5th 2023 was tweeted at 9 a.m. ET and Trailer 1 was also supposed to be released at 9 a.m ET, 30 minutes before the stock market opened.

- The tweet that announced Trailer 1 would release early December was tweeted at 8 a.m. ET, 90 minutes before the stock market opened.

- After the September 2022 leaks (which happened on a Sunday), Rockstar tweeted their response on Monday at 9:10 a.m. ET, 20 minutes before the stock market opened.

Of all tweets outside of trading hours, only the delay in November was after the market closed (rather than before opening). And this was probably not by coincidence, since this delay was announced on the same day as an earnings call. It was tweeted just 25 minutes before the earnings call started. But not every GTA VI tweet was tweeted when stock markets were closed:

- After Trailer 2, Rockstar tweeted the next day that Trailer 2 was shot entirely in-game from a PS5 and comprised both gameplay and cutscenes. This was tweeted at 2:17 p.m. ET.

- The February 2022 tweet, confirming development, was tweeted at 10:11 a.m. ET.

I am not saying we get something today, but I do really hope so, even if it's not a trailer. To me it would make perfect sense, to boost Take-Two shares just before the earnings call and you would almost expect it after Rockstar's Newswire last week was also for this week. And IF we do get anything, I guess it will be before 9:30 a.m. ET, or it will be at the earnings call.

What do you think? Do they purposefully tweet outside of trading hours? Will we get something today?

UPDATE: The stock market has opened and Rockstar has not announced anything around GTA VI. I think this means that we will not get anything today. The only thing could be a tweet between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET (Between the stock market closing and the earnings call starting). If they were to do that, I can only imagine it being a delay announcement, just like how the previous delay was announced at 4:05 p.m. ET on the day of the earnings call. However, I don't believe that's going to happen. No news today should be good news, as investors will need to know of any delay.

And though I don't know when Rockstar will announce anything around GTA VI, I do believe that when that day has finally arrived, it will be done when the stock market is closed and so presumably before 9:30 a.m. ET. Which means we don't have to refresh Twitter (X) each Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 10 a.m. ET.
