Made an Hardcore Nuzlocke mod for Infinite Fusion
Hey all,
I have to say, I fell in love with this game, it kinda ruined other pokemon games for me because of the sheer endless fusion combinations...
So I played through it once (posted my HoF here haha) and decided to give nuzlock a try, to challenge me somehow.
I am totally new to nuzlocking, and I noticed that I am bad at it, not at the battles, at the discipline. I kept lying to myself, or half lying whatever you want to call it, inventing new rules on the fly and so on and so forth.
Since I am working as a developer, I was thinking to myself, why not hardcode these rules? This way, I am left with no choice but to obey the nuzlock rules.
So I built one for myself over the while, and it's grown big enough that I figured I'd offer it up in case anyone else is interested.
I am usally playing randomizer + fuse everything, so all my tweaks are kind of built around that.

What it does (almost everything is optional and toggled right in the Options menu):
- Engine-enforced Hardcore Nuzlocke — whiteout = real game over, the save locks/deletes itself. No save-scumming your way out.
- Fusion-aware first-encounter rule — dupes clause, species clause, shiny clause all actually understand fusions
- Permadeath — fainted mons go to a "Cemetery" box and can't be healed. Revive Tokens (1–3 per badge) are the only way back.
- The usual hardcore stuff — no heal items in battle, no fleeing trainers, no wonder trade, fusion partner lock — each one toggleable
- Balance tweaks — Dragon Rage / Sonic Boom no longer one-shot your early team, halved wild encounter rate so routes aren't a slog, and more
- Companion QoL mini-mods — no wild Ditto, Game Corner prizes cost cash instead of endless coin-grinding, Oak's assistants count trainer wins instead of fusions
- One-click "Restart Run" that keeps all your settings
