During Amuda cinema fire, Bavê Mihemed went into the burning building and managed to save 12 children.

He died on his attempt to save the 13th child, In which the ceiling fell on him.

His body was later found holding a child, the fire had combined them together.

After this tragedy people started calling Amûda (amûda bavê mihemed) in recognition of his bravery
