Desperate help to revert to my old state

Okay so long story short I really want to revert back to my body. About a month ago I wanted to start going to the gym and become lean.. worst idea of my life. This caused me to eat more, and now I actually see a definition in the upper abs but I wanted just defined obliques and an hourglass. My body before looked much leaner and now I have some fat built up on my stomach and it isn’t as flat or hourglass shaped. How should I go about returning to that? Should I do a cut and a lot of cardio? Please any advice would really help. I physically feel uncomfortable in my body now and I actually feel like excess fat is on my stomach because now even in the mornings it’s still there, so it isn’t just water bloating.
