nursing student realisation

I am on my fist hospital placement currently 4 days in and I am absolutely LOVING it. I was worried after aged care that this path wasn’t for me and found myself bored and unmotivated this semester. But after Today taking on my own patient load and working with an incredible nurse I have finally realised that this is definitely the path I want to go down!!! Huge thanks to the nurses who make us students feel welcome and unafraid to ask questions. An extra thank you to the nurses who let us practice skills and do things for the first time without making us feel like a waste of time!!!

Edit: I have received so many DMs along the lines of my being gullible and not understanding what’s to come. Of me romanticising a hard job and how I’m not going to feel this way forever.

I would like to clarify I am NOT an idiot who only sees the world in rainbows.

“hmu in 5 years time when you have worked as a real nurse and tell me how much you actually like the job… till then stop talking.”

“posting this will make more wanna be nurses and give me more useless students to have to teach when they don’t pay attention”

A lot of people need a little bit more positivity in their life and I hope you find it. Take the small wins and love the big ones and if a nursing student makes a grateful post on reddit then let them have that positivity high while they can!!
