SPCA… tea or 🚩🚩🚩???
I’ve been fostering for the SPCA for quite a while, and something that happened recently really caught me off guard.
I’m currently fostering a mama cat and her kittens. I brought them back to the shelter for their vaccines before taking them home again.
While I was at the front desk, one of the staff members looked at the mom and said:
“Oh, I love this mama! She makes the best and sweetest kittens… but she won’t anymore since she’s getting fixed after this litter.”
…
I don’t know this mama cat’s history… but is it striking anyone else as strange that the SPCA knows she’s had multiple litters before?
How would this even be possible?
To me it sounded almost like she was being used for breeding???
Am I reading too much into this? Has anyone fostered with the SPCA or heard something similar? Is there a reasonable explanation I’m missing?
