Looking for a short-term sublet in Berlin (June–July) — advice very welcome
Hi all. I know this is fairly last minute and I appreciate your patience.
I’ll be in Berlin for a stretch between June and July and I’m looking for a furnished sublet. Airbnb isn’t an option I want to go with, so I’m hoping to find something more personal and settled. Ideally somewhere central, but I’m open.
A few things I’m trying to figure out:
Where to actually look? I’ve come across WG-Gesucht but would like to know what else is worth using. Facebook groups, community boards?
What’s realistic? I don’t want to go in with wrong expectations around pricing or timing. Any honest sense of what the market looks like for this kind of thing would be useful.
The legal/paperwork side. I know subletting in Germany isn’t always straightforward and I don’t want to inadvertently put a primary tenant in a difficult position. Any sense of what’s standard, what to look out for, or what documentation typically comes up would help.
Thanks in advance!
