Jude Terry

How good is he? he is not talked about as much as other young prospects but from the little I saw he seems to be the most talented

Being optimistic and looking forward to the future is great and we should. But…

This was the World Cup for us to make a run.

  1. So called golden generation in their prime.
  2. Foreign coach on a very expensive contract. (An American coach like Jesse marsch for example would have gotten the same result most likely)
  3. Other teams with weak squads compared to their previous generations.

Many more reasons but this was such a crucial World Cup and we missed a huge opportunity. In the next World Cup if we reach the R16 it will be a success.

I know we played better than ever before but in the end the result is what matters most. And also most successful World Cup teams peak in the knockout stage not the group stage and Poch showed some WC inexperience starting so strong out the gate like that

Edit: for all the people that are talking about squads on paper and that we don’t have that many world class players to make a run. Please look at 2022 Morocco, 2002 South Korea, 2018 Russia , 2004 Greece and many more examples. Soccer is not played on paper especially with home support anything can happen

Why it hurts so much. Casuals won’t understand but we do

We understand that when you host a World Cup and play against a weak Belgium team you should make it to the QF and not get your ass slapped around like we did. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience something very special in this country and it was squandered in the most miserable way. We waited so long for this tournament and we also understand that we beat teams that a host country should beat. We didn’t do anything spectacular besides playing really well but we lost in a way that overshadowed it. I truly believe that both Canada and Mexico would have knocked out Belgium if they played them at home like we did. We made them look so good. Very disappointing even if we make it to the QF next would cup or even semi final it won’t be as special as making a run on home soil at this World Cup. All the other teams that got knocked out in this round played a better opponent than we did and all looked so much more honorable and it hurts so much.

Weapons we will be missing this World Cup: McGlynn’s left foot, Tessman’s presence in corners and midfield, Morris’s play under pressure. Weapons we will have: Roldan’s vibe

Any others?

Why I don’t like the Zandejas inclusion.

I’ll start by saying that I think that he is a great player. But, bringing him instead of Tessmann or Morris or even Mcglyn means that Weston will have to drop back. And I still very much prefer Weston at the 10 rather than Zandejas. Now if we brought him instead of Roldan or a defender that would be a different story.

Given what we know about the squad (which I’m not happy about. I think this is our strongest line up

Am I the only one who wants to see more American commentators?

They have to stop with the eraser of American soccer culture. Like not every team needs to be called F.C. Timbers,Sounders etc is so much better. But yeah give home grown Americans the chance to commentate.

Aaronson going down with injury :((

Doesn’t look good as he was holding the side of his knee. Will be a tough blow to lose him.

Preliminary squads will be announced today?

I think that the provisional squads are to be announced today at least internally to fifa. Is it going to be public information?
