1990s paperback military thriller set in reunified Germany. Aging german veterans hunt a former SS operative nicknamed ‘The Grey/Silver Wolf‘ who killed their soldiers in the waning days of ww2. Main German character is Axel. American Special Forces veteran Jake ‘The Snake’ got his nickname from a snake-like shrapnel scar from Vietnam and falls in love with Axel’s daughter. One veteran trapped in East Germany loses his legs. Cover had an Iron Cross/German war medal.
