I’ve been producing music for 20 years but house music for about 12 years now. I am 42 years of age.
For awhile I was so eager to create something amazing and get a release on labels etc but it often created frustration, perfectionism and a feeling of being overwhelmed by the sheer volume of music out there and fear that il never stand out. Now I have begun to care less about any of that and have rediscovered my passion and enjoyment for it. I have rediscovered what really moves me as opposed to what is popular and trending.
If you’re in this situation and younger, I urge you to just disconnect from what everyone else is doing and just create what interests you the most not what other people are currently interested in the most. This is how you will discover your true voice and actually begin to stand out.
