Do you think I should apply to Columbia?
First generation, low income, white male. I plan on applying to Columbia as my ED next year but I don't really know if i would have a chance at it. I have a 4.0 gpa unweighted, I'm vice president of my schools black student union and have helped initiate food, clothing, and toiletry drives over the past few years. I've only taken apes and two dual credit classes due to my school not offering much. I plan on doing co-op next year as well as taking two more dual credit classes. The only problem is that I only got a 1200 on my sat. I plan on retaking in the fall and I know Columbia is test optional, but I'm just worried my application wouldn't be good enough without a way better test score. I plan on majoring in psychology and social work to pursue psychiatry. Please be honest with any advice or criticism.
