I want to marry a Japanese man who is retired, over 69, and he's in bankruptcy (took out an unfortunate loan a long time ago and an unforeseen event made it impossible for him to pay it off). He receives welfare benefits.

I am working. What will happen after we get married? He won't need social assistance anymore, but his debt will fall back on him (and on me too?). Thanks for your insights
