I have six years experience as an analyst (pricing and reporting primarily, 5 years in health where did a bit of everything and one in P&C that was focused solely on pricing) and am about to accept a position at a regulator, as far as I can tell with the work boiling down to being the person who reviews P&C filings for the state.
It seems like a great job and I’m super excited (heaven help us I actually like reading through filings and trying to understand why selections were made), however I’m still a little in the dark as to what specifically the work will be like and how it will differ from what I’ve done before.
Does anyone have any insights as to what I should expect? How the work is different, how I’ll spend my time, office culture vs a large carrier, blind spots I might have going in, etc.?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
