Coworker’s spouse is always present during remote meetings — normal?

I’m curious how people handle this in remote teams.

We’ve all been remote for quite a while. Early on, one guy on my team would occasionally have his partner walk through the background during meetings, which honestly felt pretty normal for remote work. But recently, his partner has moved her desk into the same space where he works and now sits at a desk right beside him at a 90-degree angle, so at this point, whenever we have meetings, she’s almost always there for the entire meeting. He never uses headphones, so all our meetings are on speaker.

We're software developers who regularly discuss things that feel internal to the team during meetings. What I feel unsure about is how much detail we should be going into when discussing internal topics while there’s essentially always a non-employee present for all of our meetings.

Is this generally considered normal/acceptable in remote tech culture?
