You can be informed without being obsessed just as much as you can be obsessed without actually being informed.

Just remember to make most of your time about your interests and hobbies. That doom scrolling doesn't make you more informed. Think of all the people who do endlessly scroll on Facebook or Tik Tok and still come away with believing bs. Always wanting updates or to check every hour isn't healthy even if it's something we feel is keeping us up to date.

I only scroll on reddit for maybe 15ish minutes everyday from the time I wake up at 7am to midnight. I downloaded an app that kicks me off certain apps at 10am and I can't look again until 10pm. (The StayFree app if anyone's wondering). Some news stories are constantly developing or can change within hours or minutes even. Waiting can be just an informative.

So much with the Trump administration has been purposeful chaos to cause news/media obsession. So many things they've backed out on or other states have shot down. Even things the supreme court have shot down. Just remember that a dictatorship doesn't take 10yrs and a party switch within that 10yr timeframe AND almost 2yrs into their second term to happen.
