Hey everyone,

I wanted to get some honest opinions about my chances for Internal Medicine match as a NON-US IMG.

My profile:

• Step 1: Pass (first attempt)
• Step 2 CK: 260s
• YOG gap: 1 year
• USCE: 3 months
• No publications yet

I’m planning to apply broadly and hopefully add some research before applications go out.

How much will the 1-year gap hurt me despite a strong Step 2 score? Also, how important are publications nowadays for IM programs for NON-US IMGs?

Would really appreciate hearing from people who matched with similar stats or anyone involved in the application process.
