How to get into semiconductor industry
Hey everyone,
I’m 28 and trying to build a long-term path into either the semiconductor industry or critical facilities/data centers, and I’m looking for advice from people already in the field.
My background right now is a little different:
Construction Quality/Inspection experience on the Intel semiconductor campus project in Ohio
Worked around large infrastructure projects, QA/QC, underground utilities, testing, coordination with contractors, etc.
Leaving soon for the Coast Guard as a Machinery Technician (MK)
MK training will give me experience with pumps, diesel engines, hydraulics, HVAC/refrigeration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and mechanical systems
Long-term plan is earning a Mechanical Engineering degree while serving or after
