Hi all,

Thought I’d introduce myself.

I started my career at Cisco and Tandberg, so my background originally came from the tech side, having studied Computer Science in the 90s. Over the years I moved further into the rental/hire world, and the more I saw how a lot of rental businesses were operating, the more obvious it became that the industry was still putting up with too much hassle from old systems, spreadsheets, paperwork, and disconnected processes.

That’s a big part of why I ended up building Renttix.com.

The idea behind it is pretty straightforward: bring rental operations, asset and fleet management, tracking, invoicing, payments, vehicle routing, and reporting into one place so rental businesses can run properly without fighting their software every day.

What really stood out to me was how much time and money the industry wastes just trying to do basic things properly — raising invoices where you’ve got per-day billing, minimum hire periods, recurring charges, off-hire calculations, delivery and collection charges, damages and then on top of that still needing separate subscriptions for QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or Zoho just to finish the job. SMEs havent got a 100k invoicing systems budget of companies like Sunbelt.

A lot of what pushed me in this direction came from seeing the same issues over and over again — things slipping through the cracks, too much manual admin, poor visibility, invoicing headaches, and systems that don’t really match how rental businesses actually work.

So now I’m focused on building something specifically for the rental industry rather than another generic business platform pretending to understand it.

Would be good to hear from others in here. What’s the biggest pain in the neck in your part of the rental industry right now? If I can assist in any way please reach out.
