I'm climbing Kazbek in the second week of August this year and the one bit of kit I'm not sure about is the sleeping bag.
I'm planning on bringing a tent incase I can't get a spot in the huts and I'm also planning on going on to do some trekking after Kazbek itself, so I'm doing it old fashioned Alpine style with everything on my back. Unguided.
Obviously weight is the biggest consideration and I'm scratching my head over how light a sleeping bag I can get away with.
What temperature rating should I bring? I own a good range of sleeping bags that'll cover right down to -30c (very bulky and heavy). Currently I'm leaning towards bringing a very light down sleeping bag which is rated to 0c and then bringing another down duvet and thermorest. But I'm really not sure and can't find anyone talking about their sleeping system online.
Any advice is welcome. Thanks.
