I built a tool to compare job offers beyond just salary and would love feedback

Hey everyone,

Over the last few years I changed jobs a few times and realised comparing offers is way more complicated than just looking at salary.

Every time I got a new offer I ended up drowning in spreadsheets trying to figure out things like:

- How much will I actually take home after tax and student loans?

- Is the pension better or worse?

- Is a longer commute cancelling out the pay rise?

- Is better work-life balance worth slightly less pay?

Most calculators I found only focused on gross salary or take-home pay, so I decided to build my own tool.

It compares your current role against a new offer across things like:

- estimated take-home pay

- bonuses

- pension contributions

- student loan repayments

- commute costs

- remote work

- work-life balance

- career growth

- job security

It also tries to give an overall recommendation based on what you prioritise most, not just the highest salary.

I’ve just deployed the first public version and I’d genuinely love some honest feedback before I improve it further.

Especially interested in:

- does the logic make sense?

- are there important factors missing?

- which parts are confusing?

- would you actually use something like this when deciding whether to switch jobs?
