I‘ve been wanting to buy an oled monitor for a long time now. I‘m still using my 27gp850-b i got about 5 years ago and always dreamt of a nice 4k oled monitor. But in the last few months my preferences have shifted a bit.

I thought when getting a new monitor I could as well get an ultrawide for immersiveness. That‘s why I‘ve been so excited for the new 39GX950-B (which i sadly didn‘t get to test in the giveaway…) with the new tandem woled technology. The only thing I was worried about was the matte coating (I don‘t wanna start another TV war i just think the colors pop more and when spending this much money i want wverything to be perfect) and gaming on my switch 2 which doesnt support ultrawide at all. I also thought of using the monitor to watch movies, my bed is right behind my desk so i could just relax there but it would be a bit small for that usage scenario.

Then I came across the new C6 which just released. I thought i could use this perfectly for watching movies as well as gaming, 42 inches would be perfect for my 80cm deep desk. Sadly the C6 42 inch isn‘t Tandem WOLED so i focused on the C5 42 which is currently on sale for 675 swiss francs (857 usd.) which i think is a great price and worlds cheaper than the 1800 usd ultrawide. I also read that TVs are still better in terms or image processing, colors and hdr, in short they still look better at least before Tandem WOLED became a thing on gaming monitors.

I mostly plan to play single player games, currently playing Hades and will definitely pick up the new Forza game. All the must play games of the last century are piling up on my steam wishlist…

I also play some competitive games like Battlefield 6, Overwatch and Fortnite but only to have fun. My setup is pretty good, I‘m rocking a 4090 and 13900k.

I can‘t decide which one to get. I‘m mostly afraid to miss out on the new tandem woled tech and higher brightness. I also tend to buy the newest and best things because i‘m afraid of missing out on the new stuff.

Which one has the best image and will look the best when playing games? Is Woled really that good? Will i miss out when buying the TV instead of the monitor?
